Congo Square Theatre Company is a Chicago-based African-American theater ensemble. Through the August Wilson New Play Initiative the company has put on a ton of plays in honor of the Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright who had been a supporter of Congo Square since its' inception. Currently, they're showing a play by Kwame Kwei-Armah, "Elmina's Kitchen", a story of gun crime, racism and a difficult father-son relationship. Tickets are only $25 (could be a great outing for you and your Chicas or for a smooth date) Check out the link. http://www.congosquaretheatre.org/
