Black In America - A CNN Two Part Series Hosted By Soledad O'Brien



Tonight at 9pm/8pm Central Soledad O'Brien hosts "Black In America", a two-part series presented by CNN. Tonight's show will focus on the topic: "The Black Woman & Family". According to CNN, Soledad O'Brien will explore the varied experiences of black women and families and investigate the disturbing statistics of single parenthood, racial disparities between students and the toll of HIV/AIDS. Additionally O'Brien will report on the progress of black women in the workplace and the status of the black middle class.

The second half of the series will focus on "The Black Man" and will air on Thursday at 9pm/8pm Central. Click here for more info!

The special was interesting, especially the interview with Michael Eric Dyson and his brother who is in jail for life. Although the coverage only scratched the surface, one could argue that this was neccesary for such a broad audience. Soledad did a nice job anchoring. Fun fact, she is actually half black (afro cuban) half irish australian!
